The Phi Beta
Kappa Association of Kentuckiana sponsors two awards programs to support liberal
arts education in our community. Each year at the spring meeting a
scholarship is presented to one graduating senior from the University of
Louisville, from Bellarmine University, and from Indiana University Southeast.
Faculty from each university select the senior to be honored. This program
is funded by donations to Phi Beta Kappa Association of Kentuckiana.
The book awards program
honors graduating high school seniors. PBK of Kentuckiana works with senior
counselors at the 66 high schools in Louisville and the surrounding Kentucky
and Indiana counties to prepare a personalized copy of The
Intellectual Devotional by David S. Kidder and Noah D. Oppenheim that is presented to the student at the school's
Senior Awards Program. Often Phi Beta Kappa members make the
presentations. This program is funded through donations to Phi Beta Kappa
Association of Kentuckiana and a generous contribution from Aegon, Inc.
